Denim Sighted

Before I'm left out of this trend, here's what I found when I came across Topman. It is out in the market with variety of styles.

Denim Jacket.

These are very tempting with a lot of different cutting, colors, and styles of denim shirt. I'm definitely grabbing one from the store soon... but I'll wait for the sales season perhaps. :p

Denim 2012

Have been abandon my blog for quite awhile. Feel guilty for not updating but yet lazy after getting back from work. Must...... get... myself...... to write.... something today!!!

Aite, enough of the drama. Been away but notice something is back this Spring 2012. Denim Baby!

I must admit Denim wasn't my favourite style, in fact I feel that it is very 'old' fashion. But after observing for quite some time now, Denim has turn into a wardrobe that can fit your body easily by giving you variety of style to choose from, Casual, Elegant, Semi Formal, etc.

From this.............

It really turn my mind around when I saw this awesome picture from the web. My 2 cent opinion  when you are buying a Denim. Hope it helps.

1. Pick a perfect cutting Denim (Shirt, Jacket or Jeans) that fits you well. It will create a nice shape on your body, otherwise it will look either flappy or shrink.
2. Do not go for cheap Denim due to its bad quality which is not solid enough. it will affect your look for sure.
3. The color. Although mostly are blue and black, but there are different kind of tone which are very subjective to individual, so pick wisely.

I believe your parent still keep their jeans somewhere in the closet, dig it out and see how was the style back then. I must say the quality is F*******  (excuse me) durable.

If you are one of those who doesn't really care about Denim (like me), do think twice before you denied it existence and try it before is too late. After all, Denim was one of the hottest trend back in the 80s and it is still the hit-test now.  Especially those 80s baby, you're born together with this style! :)

After the trend is over, do not throw away your Denim as the longer you keep, the valuable it gets. Perhaps someday it might hit back again, it never gets old!

Boat shoe

Just bought this pair of boat shoe over the weekend, can't wait to get on it.

I was looking for a shoe that able to let me match with my casual outfit as wearing a sandal/slipper will definitely lower down your score.

Then boat shoe came into my sight. These shoe were a trend during the 80s and it hits back now, awesomely match with chino shorts or pants.

Really love its flexibility, allows you to go either casual or formal and the striking color can really makes you look trendy and outstanding in the crowd.

What is the right length?

So, what is the right length? Probably we'll just put on our shirt and walk. This little detail will determine how good looking are you otherwise it will definitely destroy your look even if you put on an expensive and branded shirt.

A tips on how I determine the shirt's length for me. I would use the level of belt to judge what is the right length, somewhere above or below that will look perfect for me. If the shirt is too long for you, your body will look small and short.

On the other hand, if you want to go slightly formal or gentlemen, you can always tuck in your shirt and match it with a nice looking belt.

Pick the right belt if you want to go either tuck-in or un-tuck, it will definitely give you some extra score on your outfit.

Suspender? Or Should I call it Braces?

I used to wear suspender to school when I was a kid and it reminds me of this. Do I hated it? Let's just say I don't remember much on how I look but right now I feel that I look like him. (Well, he actually looks ok to me though...)

The common name for this underrated accessory is Suspender but some call it Braces. When people call it Braces, they are referring to a more luxurious and higher quality of suspender. Do not underestimate the power of the Suspender/Braces as it can add some extra flavour to your outfit. I didn't expect it to be an fashion accessory but it looks pretty darn good!

It used to serve the formal occasions but now the trend has changed and people started to use it as an accessory of the outfit for both men and women.

Good Night Ladies and Gentlemen. I'll end the suspender post with a 'mini swag'. Have a great week ahead!

Summer Urban Gent

Well well well, Malaysia certainly does not enjoy the 4 season weather but when June hits, unconsciously I feel the heat from Summer has arrived. (Although Malaysia is always that HOT!!!) So, what are wearing during this 'Season' without getting sweaty?

Dressing up without fearing to endure the heat is a very tough mission indeed as you want to look good under the sun probably, especially when you're going out for a casual lunch, or shopping.

What I'm gonna share with you is something simple and comfortable, yet with S-T-Y-L-E!

First of all, Chino Shorts! Looks easy right? But let me tell you something, if you get the length wrong, you're screw! Sometimes, people just doesn't realize that the length is actually affecting your entire look because to them, they are all the same, just another casual SHORTS. You end up looking like an adult with kiddo size attire and  if your SHORT pants is too LONG, it makes you look short! Is a No No to me definitely.

The safest length would be anywhere just past the knee or slightly higher. That's the safe zone dude!

Another thing you have to be aware of, your shoes. No Sliper Please! People tend to be too casual and they forget about their shoes! You gotta match all the way down to your feet, you don't want to ruin your effort right? A pair of Canvas or Sperry Top Sider would definitely be my choice.

Match it with a stripes Tees.

Or go Smart Casual with Cardigan and Tie. Looks Awesome!

Basically, when you get the bottom rights, you'll get your tops right. You can try Checker Shirt too, looks nerdy!

Till then, enjoy the Summer!

The Urban Gentlemen

Have you ever heard of 'Urban Gentlemen'? I have just discovered this style not long ago on the web while I was searching for new style for my photograph session with my friends and we love it!! Let's walk through together on what is 'Urban Gentlemen' and how does it look like.

It all started with this blog call 'The Urban Gent' where it provide fashion tips and guide for the men only. This style is originate from urban America and has been wide spread since then. Is kinda hard to track down when exactly this style has been founded and when is it become so well adapt but 'The Urban Gent' site was founded back in 2008.

The Urban Gent style is about individual trying to express themselves with different personal attitude by  developing their own personal sense of style (Urban Young Trendsetter) and less copying the designer's style. These urban young trendsetter is the attention grabber on the street, i mean, look at the way they style, can you spot one easily?

Kanye West.
Fonzworth Bentley.(host of from g’s to gents)
Virgil Abloh. (a creative force/ PASTELLE designer of sorts)
Ferrai Murakami. (his barber) (not featured here)

Talking about Kanye West, he is one of the icon of Urban Gent.

Needless to say, every single Gentlemen here has their own sense of style which portrays different personality and each of them does grab our attention. I do notice one thing which is the color combination but this is where you have to crack your head to make a perfect colour match or else it'll scare off the Ladies!

A few note for you to refer if you would like to be an Urban Gent:

1. A modern day gentleman.
2. A certain wardrobe style.
3. A stylish well-mannerd man with swagger. He has knowledge of proper etiquette and grooming.

p.s: Swagger is to move with confidence, sophistication and to be cool. Swagger is to conduct your self in a way that would automatically earn respect.

Well, it looks easy at the beginning but sounds hard at the end. However, don't be afraid of trying, it might gives you unexpected result!

till then, ciao~z!

'The Urban Gentleman is the modern gentlemen. He is a man of style, class, and culture.'
